2024 Recap

2024 by the numbers:

5 operating sessions

2 work sessions

1 major rework - Doswell

Multiple small signals changes and tweaks

Multiple operational tweaks

In 2025, my goal is to move to dispatcher control, operationally. From a build perspective, I plan to rework the XR area significantly.

Maybe this year will see some light scenery.. It could happen.

Operating Session Coming Up

The first operating session in 5 months is going to happen shortly.

Not much other stuff has been going on with the layout and I have been ignoring the blog.

Hopefully, as the holidays approach, I will be able to spend some time and add some content.

Please accept my apologies.

Note on Updates

I am filling in posts for the past few months of sessions and progress.

Their dates are getting set to track when it happened, vs when I got around to posting it.

So, any followers concerned they missed those posts - you didn't!

Real Time Update

Acca Yard is mostly complete; the south side of the yard into AY is being lined up as I type this.

Pictures and additional updates to follow this week and next.

Updating Process a bit fouled up

I had to turn in my old laptop, which is how I have been sorting and uploading pictures from the cameras.

Oops.

Working to figure out alternatives.

Progressing Slowly

More track is down and I've been spending my time lately grooming the DCC wiring to make it sustainable versus hacked together.

I have pulled a couple of new bus runs to support the track that's down.

Currently working on the crossovers in Greendale and then will start putting the station tracks in.

If we get some sunny weather in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to get subroad down to get me into the Acca area, but with February, you have no idea what you get. Today started rainy, then went sleet, then snow and it all had melted away by 1 or so.

I have been taking pictures so there will be fodder for more posts in the nearish future.

(Late) May Already?

I am pleased to report that significant progress has been made on the railroad since the last update.

Web content updates, not so much...

I will attempt to try and rectify this in the next few days.

Last Post in April, yikes!

Wow, didn't realize I was slipping so much on updates. Thankfully, the railroad itself has seen lots of progress.

I have set December as my first test session target so we are rapidly getting there.

I will publish a couple of updates in the next week or so to bring the readers of the site and blog up to speed.

[taps mic] Testing, 1...2...3..

Some progress made in real life, but nothing really on the electronic front for the layout.

Did get an article published in the LDSig's Journal this quarter.

Let me grab the memory cards and start putting content together again.

Content Coming - Teaser Shot of Staging

Working to queue up a bunch of content; camera is full of pictures and work has been done on many fronts so expect a good variety of updates to pop up every other day as I get posts written and queued.

Website Updates

Fixed some menus, a couple of typos and reworked a couple of sections.

Take a look at the about page; there is a link to the track plans that are used for the build process. http://richmond-terminal.org/about.htm

Full Site Updates

Spent some time working on expanding out the operations pages on the full site; I tweaked the menu and fleshed a couple more things out. Up next is to better discuss and document the CTC portion.

You can check that out right here.
